Message from the Director General, C-DAC, India

C-DAC School of Advanced Computing (C-SAC) was set up as a national initiative in Mauritius in 2002, under the aegis of the University of Mauritius. Since its inception, it has continued to focus its activities towards promoting education, training, research & consultancy in the field of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and its applications.

Today, C-SAC trains a number of students not only from Mauritius, but also from the East African region, thereby playing a vital role in IT capacity building. The University of Mauritius has been a key partner in this initiative and I would like to acknowledge its contributions in making this joint initiative a success in the region. It gives me great pleasure to learn that all academic programmes offered at C-SAC are accredited by the Tertiary Education Commission, Mauritius.

C-SAC, like its parent body, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) imbibes the ethos of quality and innovation in all its offerings, and remains committed to the proliferation of IT till the grassroots level. With the capabilities and experience garnered over the years, I am confident that C-SAC is providing an ideal platform to address various facets of technology and the needs of the ICT industry.

The academic and technical programmes offered at C-SAC will not only enable the proliferation of IT among the masses, but also open up avenues for experts to share ideas and research. This in turn, has strategic potential to positively impact the growth of the ICT industry in Mauritius and the region.

I commend the initiatives of C-SAC, and extend my best wishes to the entire C-SAC team in their endeavours.
