About C-SAC

University of Mauritius and C-DAC logos C-DAC School of Advanced Computing (C-SAC) is a tertiary education institiution set up in Mauritius in 2002 by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) of Government of India. C-SAC is affiliated to the University of Mauritius and is registered with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), Mauritius. University of Mauritius is the awarding body for all the academic programmes of C-SAC.

As a national institution, C-SAC is playing a strategic role in the development of knowledge based society in Mauritius. Strong emphasis on industry oriented and constantly innovating learning processes characterises the delivery of its academic programmes.

C-SAC is dedicated in creating high quality manpower for the ICT industry in Mauritius. Over the years it has produced hundreds of graduates who are currently occupying top positions in Mauritius and abroad, making C-SAC a 'Centre for Shaping Ambitions and Career'.

C-SAC's lush green campus is located in the heart of Quatre Bornes, with most conducive atmosphere and facilities to aid top quality education. It is equipped with air-conditioned classrooms, computer labs, library, lounges, and play-areas. The classrooms are provided with audio-visual aids and internet facilities for fostering interactive learning.

C-SAC'S Vision & Mission

"C-SAC's vision is to promote education, training, research and consultancy in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its applications in Mauritius and the eastern African region."

C-SAC's mission statement:

  • To impart industry relevant, quality and cost efficient university-level academic programmes in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Mauritius and the eastern African region.
  • To conduct training workshops/seminars/conferences in specialized fields like e-Governance, information systems & security, cyber forensics, bioinformatics, advanced computing, etc.
  • To provide consultancy and advisory services, and undertake research and development on the applications of ICT in Mauritius and the eastern African region.

Academic Programmes

C-SAC is offering various courses in MBA, MSc, BSc (Hons) and Diploma programmes awarded by the University of Mauritius. All these university courses are accredited by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), Mauritius.

The faculty at C-SAC is a blend of academicians, executives, and consultants who bring their extensive knowledge and industry experience to the classroom. C-SAC encourages group and activity-based learning, and other modern practices of teaching and learning.

C-SAC has strong association with the ICT industry, which has resulted in its courses being aligned with the needs of the industry, thus producing industry-ready professionals. The courses aim to groom the students to work on current and emerging technology scenarios as well as prepare them to keep pace with the requirements of the ever-growing ICT sector.

Executive Development Programmes

C-SAC organizes and promotes workshops, seminars and corporate trainings on advanced and emerging technology domains. Experts from across the globe deliver these executive development programmes. The corporate trainings are designed on specialised topics as per the requirements of the customer. Research & Consultancy

Learning, knowledge sharing and collaborative research that contributes to C-SAC's intellectual capital is available for consulting and advisory services. Market driven and industry relevant research subjects that foster a stronger learning environment and help creating closer industry-academic relationships drive C-SAC's research and innovation philosophy.

C-SAC, together with C-DAC India, undertakes research and development projects in such areas as green computing, financial and market simulation, real time systems, multilingual computing, e-Governance, health informatics, cyber security and forensics, etc. It provides consultancy on the application of ICT as a tool for socio-economic development and the corresponding policy framework that would help create sustainable nations.

C-SAC has a large network of researchers and professionals within its parent organisation, C-DAC India.
